#2 With houses locked up over summer some north facing rooms can get really hot..during the day, a standard alarm sensor can become unstable in a hot room so why not consider replacing it with a harsh environment sensor
#3 Have your alarm set up to ring friends or a neighbours phone instead of you….while you are away
#4 This one is IMPORTANT – leave the curtains open in rooms where you have alarm sensors visible from outside the window. Thieves wont even attempt to break in, when they can see a sensor staring back at them. (Actually not a bad idea to ask your alarm company for a couple of fresh alarm warning stickers as well)
#5 Give your outside siren a good clean, and clear away that spring shrubbery growth so it is clearly visible
#6 And last but not least get a 24hour timer and set up a light to come on for a few hours in the evening as you would if you were home…a house in total darkness before 10.30pm at night hints at your being away.
